A Classic Mopar Muscle Car

The dash was painted glossy black... after the body shop painted it orange by mistake! My brother had told them not to paint it at all, as we planned to paint it ourselves later on. I'm not complaining, though, as it looks great. The inside of the doors were also painted glossy black, as they were originally. Even the ceiling was painted, since we don't plan on putting the interior back in for awhile. Don't need all that fluffy stuff for racing, right?

Every bit of the work we have done has been more than worth it... it has been a year and a half since we started this project. There are a couple of minor flaws in the paint, but nothing to worry about. We can fix them later on, and a good color sanding should take care of anything less obvious. And besides, we're going to be going so fast you won't be able to see them, ha ha!!
There will be more to come as we complete this car (it will be one of our first full restorations, or as close to it as we've come). We also have a 71 Challenger convertible project well on it's way to being restored, which can be viewed HERE.

The last picture is my favorite of the bunch. I'll add a page later on to detail some of the engine build-up, the drive-train, tires, etc. There won't be anything specific about the 727 tranny, except to say that we took the numbers matching unit to a friend of my dad who owns a tranny shop. He's an old Mopar guy himself and did the rebuild for us, using a Cheeta Manual Shift valve body and his favorite racing clutches. He worked us a good deal and offered to help us out later on if we had any trouble with the transmission. Thanks, Ben!
The car is located in Northwest Arkansas, in the Springdale area.
